The History of the Ukulele
The ukulele originated from Portuguese immigrants' small guitar-like instruments in Hawaii, where it evolved to become the instrument it is today. It became wildly popular in Hawaii and then in the mainland United States, particularly during the Jazz Age and vaudeville era.
The ukulele craze resurfaced in the late 20th century and now many people enjoy it worldwide for its portability and simplicity of playing.
