Meet the Team
Rosalind Hayes, Founder and Director
Teaches voice, piano, guitar and ukulele.
Rosalind started Downingtown Music Academy in 2013. She earned her undergraduate degree in Voice Performance from Westminster Choir College, graduating summa cum laude with a minor in psychology, and holds a master's degree in Music Therapy from Drexel University. She has performed at venues including the Kimmel Center and Carnegie Hall.
Since 2013, she has helped students prepare for performances, theater roles and music programs. She leads our voice lessons and works with students on technique, pitch, expression and stage confidence.

Kevin Guttilla
Teaches piano, guitar and ukulele.
Kevin has played piano for 29 years and has taught lessons for 12. He studied music at West Chester University, with a concentration in music therapy, in a program run with Immaculata University, and completed it in 2018. He also holds a music minor from Kutztown University (2014). In 2019 he earned Music Together certification in Princeton, NJ, which trains teachers in early-childhood music.

Jason Mannheimer
Teaches guitar, ukulele, bass and drums.
Jason has taught music for 19 years and has performed professionally for more than 25. He studied music performance at Bucks County Community College and Montgomery County Community College, studied at Berklee College of Music in Boston, and earned an audio engineering certification from The Recording Engineers Institute. His lessons focus on proper technique, music theory, songwriting and performing, and he helps students of any level build confidence and find their own musical voice.

Hannah Fleury
Teaches violin, cello, clarinet, flute, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, viola, oboe and French horn.
Hannah holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (PreK-12) with a concentration in clarinet from Grove City College, and a Pennsylvania Instructional I certification in Music PreK-12. She taught for four years in public elementary schools, and clarinet is her strongest instrument. She loves introducing beginners to music, especially on woodwinds, brass and strings.
Flute, viola, oboe and French horn students need to bring their own instrument to the trial lesson and when they start.

Every Downingtown Music Academy teacher is background-checked. Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons or wait in our waiting area, which has coffee, cold water, free WiFi and toys for little ones.
